From The Trail of Painted Ponies. Silverado Ornament. Includes a cord to hang it with. Made of solid resin. Measures 2.5" high. Artist: Karlynn Keyes During the first half of the twentieth century, parades and horse shows held in conjunction with rodeos, fiestas and fairs throughout the West fueled a demand for fancy, embroidered saddlery. Elegant, silver-mounted parade saddles, carved with floral and figural motifs, and with matching bridles, martingales and breast collars, were perceived as exquisite works of art. "Silverado," a customized interpretation of this flashy tradition by Karlynn Keyes, Vice-President of The Trail of Painted Ponies, is a masterpiece by any definition. In centuries past, fertile imaginations have even gone so far as to conjure gods and heroes and tell their stories in terms of myths. Many involve the horse, our respected companion on earth, our friend in the heavens….”Janee Hughes is a former art teacher and award-winning painter who also writes and illustrates children's books and stories. She spent four years painting hand-carved wooden horses for Salem, Oregon's Riverfront Carousel. She has owned horses for many years and understands how they act and move, and how they show their feelings - which is why more of Janee Hughes' designs have been crafted into figurines than any other artist. This item cannot be exported outside of the United States and will only be shipped to a US address.

Painted Ponies Trail of Honor

Painted Ponies Trail of Honor

From The Trail of Painted Ponies. Trail of Honor. Made of resin. Measures 7" high.Artist: Devon ArcherAt this time in our history, it is important to acknowledge all the men and women who have served, and are serving in our armed forces, including those of Native American ancestry. The inspiration for this Pony came to a Virginia-based artist while attending a Powwow, when she saw an American flag and an Eagle staff carried proudly by two Native American veterans of foreign wars. She imagined a Painted Pony that symbolically connected those warriors who courageously fought against the United States government, with those who proudly fought to protect America. It would be a white Pony painted with traditional Plains Indian symbols, standing between Old Glory and an Eagle Staff, with a royal blue coverlet draped over the horse's back on which were sewn patches from each of the United States Armed Forces: the Army, Marines, Navy, Air Force and Coast Guard. This item cannot be exported outside of the United States and will only be shipped to a US address.
